Two owl cards

I haven't been on here for ages! Haven't done much crafting recently - been too busy with family history. Loving the London parish records on Ancestry!
Anyway, went off to the wilds of North London yesterday to meet up with Maggiebob and shop at the craft fair at Ally Pally! Spent a bit of money!
Got this cute owl stamp, which I used on these two cards. He did have little feet, but I like him better without!

They're taking over!

Mildreds! I can't stop drawing them! This is just the tip of the iceberg!

And here's a couple of cards using them

Sketch Saturday Challenge

Using the sketch over at Sketch Saturday Challenge I've made this card for my uncle, who will be sixty next week. He has demanded that no-one mention how old he is, so I've been very restrained and only put a little tiny 60 on it! Hope you like.

All is revealed!

Back in May I gave a sneak peak of something I'd made, and now I have great pleasure in revealing it!
It's a name book, especially for the lovely handsome Matthew on his first birthday! Each page is a letter from his name, with a picture (i.e window for w). All made out of felt with embellishments.

Christmas in July

Decided to make a start on my Christmas cards, and as luck would have it the challenge over at Cute Card Thursday is Christmas in July, so here is my entry. I've used Papermania Naughty But Nice paper, and one of my hand-drawn Mildreds. Merry Christmas!

Spots & Stripes Challenge

Blimey - finally got time to make a card for a challenge. Been so busy lately I haven't had time to do anything! Anyway, here's my entry for the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge using Spots and Stripes. I've used pretty Papermania Sweet Nothings paper, and another hand-drawn 'Mildred'. Hope you like!

Card Set Birthday Present

This is a present I made for a friend's birthday. I covered a small file box in paper, made six cards with matching papers, and made a little postage stamp holder with 6 stamps in. She was very pleased with it.

Becky's Birthday Card

Just thought I'd show the card I made for my niece's 11th Birthday. Hope you like!

Crochet Baby Hat

I haven't posted anything on here for ages, but I have been crafting! Just finished this cute crochet baby hat - started it yesterday, and finished it this morning! Now I'm going to attempt a jumper to match...

New hair!

Finally went for the chop (big time!) after approx 14 years of long hair. Waist length to this is a big change, and I'm not sure if I like it yet. Still, it will grow on me (sorry, bad pun!) You only get a shot of the back - just out of the shower so the front is not presentable. And, yes, I am wearing pink kitty pyjamas - every girl should own a pair.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge - New Beginnings

For the challenge of 'New Beginnings' over at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge I've made this New Home card. I used the stamp I bought last week, and cut off the cat & mouse part (mainly because I didn't stamp it properly, and they were a bit blurry!) After colouring in the dog, I realised he really needed a kennel, so I sketched on out and added a new home sign. Hope you like him!

Cute Card Thursday - For Jadie!

Suddenly realised that that time of year is approaching, when my nephew and my two neices have thier birthdays with three weeks of each other! Here's the card I've made for Jadie, and I've tied it in to the Cute Card Thursday challenge to add letters or numbers. I hope she likes it!

Papertake Weekly - animals

Went to a car boot sale this morning (there's a surprise!), and picked up a lovely lot of stuff. I got two 12x12 paper packs, 5 rubber stamps, and a huge bag of Fimo - for the grand total of £9! How chuffed am I?!
I've used some of the papers and one of the rubber stamps on this card for the Papertake Weekly theme of 'Animals'.

Sketch Saturday #50

I've used the sketch over at Sketch Saturday to make a card for Mum's birthday. I'm very tired, so my cutting isn't as straight as it should be!

Monday 4 May 2009

Sneaky sneak!

It'll be a while before you see this in all it's glory, as it's a present for someone, but I couldn't resist giving a little sneak preview!

Cute Card Thursday Challenge

Decided on a Christmas card for the 'Mirror Mirror' challenge at Cute Card Thursday where you have to add something shiny to your card.
My card has a lovely shiny, glittery star and a piece of shiny ribbon. I'm not sure where the papers are from, but the lovely lady coloured in with shiny glittery gel pens is Mildred's Mamma, another character I have drawn today!

Sketch Saturday Card

Really love this sketch over at Sketch Saturday
The papers are from K&Company's La Boutique 6x6 pad, and the butterfly is from a lovely set I got in Tesco last week - only £1 for loads of lovely butterflies and flowers.
And if you're wondering where I got pretty little Mildred from, well (blows own trumpet) I drew her myself! I drew a little man for a card the other day, and now can't stop drawing! I've got loads of little people ready to go on cards now!

Secret Crafter Saturday challenge

Over at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge" the theme for this week is 'Flowers'. So it's a lovely excuse to make another card with my fantastic '£2 at the car boot sale' stamp on some lovely flowery paper!

Sketch & Stash challenge

Sorted out my sock drawer yesterday and found an opened set of 6 Papermania ribbons - can't remember buying them, and have no idea how they got there!
Anyway, have used one of the ribbon on this card for the Sketch & Stash challenge. Hope you like it!

Boot Sale Stamp

Went to the car boot sale this morning and picked up a lovely stamp for £2. I've already made 2 cards using it - I can see it becoming a favourite of mine!

Sunday 12 April 2009

Two cards - one challenge!

Over at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge there's a lovely sketch, with a 'Chocolate orange' colour theme.
I've made these two cards, mainly using papers from PM Inspirations Earth Tones stack, and bits & pieces from my stash.
Unfortunately, my camera seems to have made them turn a bit purple, instead of brown! Not sure how that happened..

Saturday 4 April 2009

And the heavens darkened...

Went away last weekend to Lincolnshire, visiting old churches and archives, you know, doing lovely things! Below is a picture of Whaplode Church, which was the scariest church ever! There was no-one else around, and all your could hear were crows calling. Every time I took a picture of the church my camera added face recognition to it! I tried the church door three times, but it wouldn't open, so we walked around to the other side of the church. All of a sudden the wind picked up, and there was an almighty howling/moaning noise (obviously the wind in the trees, but still scary!) We went back round heading to the car, and as we passed the door my friend tried it and it opened immediately! Then inside the church there was a strange knocking noise, and I couldn't get the door open to leave! I won't be going back there again!

Cheapo Embellishments

I bought some 'scrapbook kits' in Poundland yesterday which had some pretty cute chipboard embellishments and dome stickers in. Here are a couple of cards with the bits on - think you'll agree they're worth the money! I've still got loads of bits left, too.

Saturday 21 March 2009

One card - two challenges

Decided to do one card for 2 challenges. First is the great sketch at Sketch and Stash .

Second is the 'Favourite Colour' theme at Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge .

I used my much neglected PM Inspirations Cool Tones paper for most of it, with a dash of PM Venetian Skies. Not sure where the 'wishes' sentiment came from - found it languishing at the bottom of a drawer. All I know is, it was a pig to work with - it's metal & very bendy!

Pretty Hippo Girly Cards

These are very simple, but I really like them!
